On August 9 1968 there was a plane crash in Germany of British Eagle Viscount G-ATFN, “City of Truro” in which all 44 passengers and 4 crew perished. Amongst the 44 passengers were 13 from the Merseyside area, and amongst them; a group of 8 young women, all in the prime of their lives, from the Catholic Ramblers Association.
